Essay

The photographer in theses photos did not used staged photography, becasue they were taken at the Vancouver Olympics and the photographer took them while the athletes were competing. Some of the photos are candid such as the photos where the athletes are recieving their medals. These photos were taken in color and i honestly dont think they would have looked right if they were done in black and white becasue the color brings out the photo and gives it more detail, with the snow and the uniforms of the athletes. Photo 22 is good composition because the focus point is in the center and it is the first thing that draws your attention when you look at the photo. In photo 17 there is some back lighting from the sky, this photo was taken during the day outside. The narration in the photos describe each picture. The photos stand alone. My reaction to the essay is that these photos describe a time in history and tradition. These photos reveal alot and they go down in history for the olympics.
